The
1970s
It was a mixed start to the decade, but in 1975-76 the PSA cleaned
up, winning 27 out of 28 games with a points record of a tremendous
1164 For and only 146 Against. The captain in that exceptional
season was Douglas Charters, who is currently Club President.
The
club's Diamond Jubilee came in 1979-80, when extended premises were
opened by Robin Charters, at that time an SRU Selector. |

| THE
MILK RUN |
| We
had a fair share of 'characters'... There was Rob Bell who always
fancied himself at song writing, his famous effort being the PSA
song When I Was A Lad. However, Rob had other
uses - as a taxi driver - when all the lads took advantage of his
Murchie milk float by getting a lift into town after
training. Plus Scotty Davies, who always arrived
straight from the farm smelling strongly of something that was
certainly not aftershave. |
